  • Mixing bowl
  • Frying pan
  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring cups
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Slotted spoon

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups rice flour
  • 1 cup achiote water
  • 1 lb ground chicken or beef
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup cooked rice ground fine
  • 1 cup water
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Cook onion and garlic until soft.
  • Add meat and cook until brown.
  • Add salt and pepper.
  • Mix in ground rice and water.
  • Cook until thick.
  • Mix rice flour and achiote water in a bowl.
  • Knead into smooth dough.
  • Fill dough circles with meat mix.
  • Seal and fry until golden.

Notes

  • Use achiote for a nice color.
  • Keep dough soft.
  • Do not overfill.
  • Fry on medium heat.
  • Drain on paper before eating.
